For weeks we heard of Self-Reliance classes starting at our church. Each time I would think, "someday I'll take one of those." Then the thought would come you should take the Start or Grow a Business class. The conversation within myself would continue, "I don't have a business so maybe it's the next direction my husband will go for employment. I do have a dream from years ago of a business we could start but he has had reservations about it." Each week I would hear it in church and go through the same thing. Then a few days before the first class I mentioned the thought to Ben. He thought we should do it. As much as I wanted to I thought, "I really don't have time for this if we are going to move to Africa for 6 months." August 23rd we went to the first class and I knew it was exactly what we needed to be doing. It is helping us with fundraising, giving Ben direction for other ways to provide for our family, and
the experience and knowledge are part of what we are to bring to Africa. I love this class! Its not just meeting once a week for 2 hours to talk about ideas; each week you take steps to build a business and put it into practice. There are accountability partners, personal goals, problem solving and collaborating with others. I can't believe how much we accomplish each week. These are all great, but those that know me well know won't be surprised that my favorite part is the spiritual focus -seeking God's help and giving thanks!
Many times I feel like I just could do one more thing, but when its God's will for us He ALWAYS makes a way! He is taking us places we can't always understand to do things beyond what we can imagine. Yet its been His plan all along and we get blessed for accepting and doing it.
